High-capacity lifts for UK retailers
One of our most successful products at the moment is a large-capacity goods passenger lift system perfectly suited to shopping centres and large retail outlets. Some of the UK’s most important and best-known retail chains now use lifts designed and manufactured by IMEM Lifts and installed by our UK clients.
We developed this fit for purpose lift following a customer’s request, a Northamptonshire based client who asked us to design a new large-capacity machine-roomless lift with a rated load of 2900Kg / 38 passengers, especially robust and hard-wearing and incorporating Bolton shutter gates. Our customer works for a well-known retailer on a series of projects in Colne, Darnley, Whitechapel, Biddulph, Slough and Newcastle among others, which required the installation of large-capacity goods passenger lifts.
Design of large-capacity elevators without machine rooms
This particular project involved several dozen machine-roomless large load capacity lifts, with the cars finished in stainless steel with checker plate flooring, Bolton shutter gates and picket gates. The lifts were designed and built to be particularly hard-wearing and to deliver many years of efficient and trouble-free operation under heavy traffic conditions. Nowadays we have designed and manufactured large load capacity lifts for well-known retailers all around the United Kingdom.

We, at IMEM Lifts, were very aware that what was required by our client – a large and well-established UK lift installation company – was a top-quality product which was also highly competitive in terms both of price and speed of delivery. After carrying out a series of projected traffic analyses of all of the sites involved, our engineering department designed a machine-roomless lift solution specifically conceived to best respond to our client’s requirements. Site peculiarities which needed to be resolved included shafts with reduced headroom space. Our designs were carefully assessed and we were awarded the job.
