State-of-the-art lifts in a Georgian building in London
116 Pall Mall is a magnificent Georgian building in the heart of London, just moments from some of the city’s most sought-after spots. Opened in 1828, it’s now home to the Institute of Directors, a prÃvate social network.
The lift installation in a historic and unique building such as this one involved a specially designed lift designed and manufactured by IMEM.
The projects’ goal was comfortable fitting a state-of-the art lift in an existing shaft respecting the special architectural features of the building.
The requirements for the installation were exceptionally high so we supplied a bespoke lift which was perfectly integrated into the building’s style.
Given the high level of requirements of the project, a bespoke lift was delivered, perfectly integrated into the building’s architectural style. For aesthetic reasons, it was requested that the original steel landing doors be retained; the lift car was therefore specially designed to continue using these doors, while fully respecting the historic character of the building.

IMEM: designs, manufactures, and installs the elevator you want
The car was panoramic with no corner frames and with a special finish in order to fit in to the historic staircase and landing doors.
The feedback for this project was extremely positive and we are extremely proud to have supplied a lift for such a prestigious location.
